Naming Ceremonies, Baby Dedications and Baptisms

When a child is born into a modern, non-denominational family, how should that event be celebrated? We may still want to formally present our children to our community, even though we do not follow religious doctrine.

This is where I come in.

Ava & Olivia’s Dedication Ceremony, fall 2014. This was a Christian-focused ceremony, and so I wore my robe and stole.

Working with the family, I write the ceremony that is a perfect reflection of them. I have done more traditional, Christian-inspired ceremonies as well as completely creative ceremonies where we invited faeries and angels to guide and protect the child.

This is the faerie garden we created as a keepsake during the ceremony for the angels and faeries.

Together we will create a ceremony that is as unique as the child being welcomed. Call it a Naming Ceremony, a Baptism or a Welcoming Ceremony – however you choose to define it, I am committed to facilitating a loving celebration of your child’s arrival. It can be as spiritual as you want it to be – including not at all.
